Another story is possible

​The Writer’s Zone is comprised of blueprints and mirrors, trick windows and secret passageways—doors propped open on pages from one aspiring author to another, plotting paths in the madhouse of our minds, our houses, our states, our countries, our worlds, carved out with pen as sword, word as bond, keyboard as warrior.  
 

In the Writer's Zone, ZCW asks you to build something different, reminding you that another story is possible, on our pages and outside of it—that our inward and outer voices powerfully transform the stories we imagine and those we inhabit. We are living through an era of upheaval, uncertainty, distraction, and manufactured narratives. Stories that seek truth, explore ideas, make meaning, preserve memory, challenge assumptions, imagine alternatives, and inspire change—in short, those that embody zen-chaos—are the antidote. And they are desperately needed now.

The ZEn Chaos Writer's path invites us to do the following:​

• Center wisdom, action, and focus in our lives, artistry, and careers.

• Use language with precision, intention, flair, sincerity, and curiosity.

• Use writing as a tool—not just a discipline, craft, and potential segment of livelihood, but also a form of self-discovery and act of resistance in the name of personal and collective transformation, for the well being of yourself and others.

• Share work that deep dives, uplifts, challenges, enlightens, comforts, and/or connects community.

• Celebrate diverse voices, perspectives, identities, and lived experiences.

• Recognize that language, culture, and creative expression both continue and evolve, with merits in entrenched traditions and experimental, genre-bending, and countercultural art alike.

• Challenge stale conventions, gatekeeping, and creative elitism.

• Stand against the hoards of stories that justify brutality, apathy, and inequitable systems with narratives of compassion, exposure, discernment, humor, humility, empowerment, and humanity.​​​​​​​​​​​

Resources for Writers:

Writing invites us to pay attention to perspective and experience, to notice the minute details in the world others might overlook, to connect to the daily experience of being and presence so many often miss. It’s an irony that to create another world, one often needs first to be fully immersed in our own.

Zen Chaos Writing is founded by an aspiring author aiming to share resources, stories, services, and advice for other authors. I’m far from having made it yet, but I’d like others to join me on the journey.  In the name of such, the Writer Zone offers both resources for writers to help you craft your books, generate revenue, and track goal progress, as well as practical support services for authors, artists, organizations, and businesses to gain an extra hand in writing-related tasks.
